AspettaMI a casa

Help elderly people find a safe accommodation for their pets while they are away due to hospitalization.

When an elderly person with a pet has to face a sudden hospitalization, in addition to the concern for their health, she/he has to face the anxiety and sorrow of having to leave the pet with someone who will take care of them, which is a difficult issue and a source of further discomfort.
In fact, it is scientifically proven that there is a positive correlation between owing a pet and the well-being of the owners themselves and, if possible, we shall try to support it.

“AspettaMI a casa” is a project that aims at meeting the needs of lonely elderly people in a difficult moment such as the period of hospitalization, and offering them emotional and psychological support by allowing them to keep the bond with their pets. This entails involving, where possible, the proximity network or identifying the right person in a short period of time in order to reassure patients who are often more worried about their pets than their own shelter.

AspettaMI a casa is a natural extension of the PortaMI a Spasso which is part of an even larger project: CuraMI&ProteggiMI, which provides an integrated set of services to give centrality to the well-being of elderly people, supported by the Fondazione Ravasi Garzanti and coordinated by cooperativa Sociale Eureka!
