The 53rd National Conference of the Società italiana di chirurgia pediatrica
In September, the city of Naples hosted the 53rd national conference of the Società Italiana di Chirurgia Pediatrica (SICP), which proposes to promote research, development, implementation, training, and the dissemination – regional and national – of information about the diagnosis and therapy of operable congenital and acquired pediatric pathologies.
The themes of the conference were the dissemination and revision of the etiopathogenesis, the diagnosis and the new kinds of therapy of the most frequently encountered pathologies in pediatric surgery.
Particular attention was given to the diagnostic work-up, the differential diagnosis, the considerations involved in treatment with urgent and emergency protocols, and the complications.
Prof. Leva, the chief of neonatal surgery at the Policlinico of Milan, together with his graduate students attended the conference thanks to the support of FPM and the “Accademia Policlinico Giovani” project.
